Our Story
Max is the owner/operator of Halo K Cattle. He is a fourth-generation cattle raiser, learning the trade from his father-in-law Mike of Olney, Texas. Similarly, Mike learned the ins-and-outs of ranching from his father-in-law Don Chandler from Throckmorton, Texas. Together, the family has been ranching the same land for over 115 years in Throckmorton and Young County Texas.
The protein provided by beef is the most nutrient-dense manner to feed an expanding population.
Max was a career Soldier and Green Beret who just recently retired after 28 years in the Army. He has held numerous commands in Long Range Surveillance, Airborne Infantry, and Special Forces units. He has now decided to serve others by ranching full time.
Max began Halo K Cattle in 2019 and has successfully grown the operation to a multi-state customer base in just a few years. He runs Black Angus cattle and specifically markets directly to consumers. Halo K provides customers the ability to experience true ranch-to-table beef. The all-grass-fed herd is managed with low-stress handling techniques and is naturally free of antibiotics and growth hormones.
